We Build Ships
Our experienced and highly knowledgeable technical team of naval architects, marine engineers, electrical engineers and marine design draftsmen provide the expertise to deliver the most complex of shipbuilding projects from concept design to completion.
- Cammell Ships is proud of its recent ferry projects which include the construction of the Red Kestrel on behalf of Red Funnel, the Sound of Seil and Sound of Soay for Western Ferries and the Strangford II for Strangford Ferries.
- The company has also built a number of offshore support vessels, including the CWind Challenger and CWind Pioneer for CWind, the world’s leading provider of services to the offshore wind industry.
Strong Track Record in Fabrication
Cammell Ships has a long-standing and well-earned reputation for delivering highly complex steel fabrication projects across the UK and beyond. Cammell Ships's fabrication facility in the North West has completed some of the most ambitious shipbuilding and block build projects in modern times, from the block build of the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carriers to the recent construction of the RRS Sir David Attenborough.
Ship Repair and Maintenance.
Cammell Ships operates a 24 hour, seven days a week, 365 days a year ship repair facility on the River Mersey.

Decades of Experience in Conversion.
Cammell Ships specialises in complex conversion and upgrade projects on a range of vessels including cable laying vessels, offshore support vessels and ferries.
- Cammell Ships’s facilities are ideally suited for conversion projects, with large sized drydocks, crane capacities and extensive onsite workshops we are able to provide both small and large scale conversions to the commercial, military and offshore industry.

Cammell Ships provides extensive ship repair and fabrication services to the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Tier 1 Supply Chain.

The automation industry involves the application
The facility allows large steel work units to be constructed without environmental interference. Structures and vessels can be loaded from the hall to heavy load out quays situated on a non-tidal wet basin.
